Tomorrow is our Halloween party at school. We have an all school parade beginning at 2:00 with our classroom party immediately following. I wanted to give a reminder to please send your son/daughter’s costume to school in the morning. They will be keeping it in their locker until we put them on around 1:30 in the afternoon. Please remember to not send in any parts of a Halloween costume that are not appropriate for school (weapons, blood, etc.). If you have any questions please let me know. Thanks for your cooperation. Hope to see you tomorrow afternoon!

Today we took unit 2 math test. I feel like we were really prepared for this test and am looking forward to seeing the scores. I wanted to let you know that I hang on to the math tests until conference time so I can show you what we have been doing in math as well as how your child is doing on the tests. I do talk to each child to let them know their grade and let them see what they missed, so you can ask them how they did on the test. If you have questions, please let me know.
Please make sure your child is reading 20 minutes on a daily basis and filling out their reading log. Usually one log takes about a month to fill in and then it gets turned in to get a new log. I keep track of these as they come in so I know who is doing their daily reading homework. Reading at home, along with the reading lessons and reading we do in school, are the best tools to help your child become an excellent reader. Thanks for all your support.
Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow, October 11th, due to professional development for teachers. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Just to let you know we are taking the reading portion of the MEAP test today, October 8th and tomorrow, October 9th. Next Tuesday, October 15th will be the math portion. We will not be having math homework the next two nights due to the MEAP test. If you have any questions let me know.
There will not be a spelling list next week due to not having school next Friday (Teacher's Professional Development day). Just wanted to give you a heads up on the change for next week.
Over the next two weeks we will be taking the MEAP test in reading and math. Please help your child understand that they need to do their best, but not to stress and worry about it. The best thing you can do as a parent to help them prepare is to make sure they are getting to bed a little earlier and eating a nutritious breakfast to give their brains and bodies energy to take the test. I will be talking to the children about this test over the next couple of days.
This week your child took a computer-based test in reading and math that will give me information about each child and where I need to go this year, as teacher, in order to teach them better. I just wanted to make you aware that this test is taking place and what it is for. If you have any questions, just let me know.
I wanted to send out a big thank to all the parents who have donated supplies for our classroom this year! I really appreciate your generosity. I couldn't do without you.
